Road To Driving Test

Requirements Explained

1:- Provisional driving license is required before you can learn to drive.
This can be obtained from
(a) 
www.direct.gov.UK
(b) Form from most Post offices

2:- Theory & Hazard Perception Test
(a) Theory test comprises of 50 multiple choice questions, of which you must score 43 to pass that section.
(b) Hazard Perception measures your response time to situations viewed on 14 video clips by means of a computer and mouse with a score of 44 out of 75 required to pass.

!!! BOTH SECTION SCORES MUST BE ACHIEVED TO PASS!!! 

The theory test and study can be carried out at the same time the practical lessons or on its own, with two years to complete the practical test from the date of passing the theory test.

4:- Practical Driving Test Explained
The practical driving test lasts about 40 minutes and contains several elements.
(a) Eye sight test - reading a number plate of a car from 67 feet or 20.5m
(b)Show me tell me - The examiner will ask two questions related to vehicle safety checks. Details of which can be found at

THE INDEPENDANT DRIVE 

Pupils are expected to carry out an independant drive on the test lasting for about 10 minutes.They are expected to drive independantly by following a series of instructions or following a diagram of the route or by following signs to given desination or even a combination of the above, An example of this may be viewed at.
